LFD including a decon truck (Hazmat 8) called to Beer Store distribution facility on Sovereign rd. Strong chemical smell coming from the battery recharge area (for forklifts?). This was a nothing-burger. They might was well pick up a 2-4 while they're there.
Thank you SumGuy, thats what I figured. I do pick up the London airport and ofcourse weather. I'll try the LFD and EMS and see what that picks up. I should have splurged and got the Homepatrol 2 lol. Regardless, I have a Pro 2045 scanner for sale if anyone is interested!
The radio shack 2045 scanner is probably 25 years old, and I don't think it can decode digital broadcasts, which I think the OPP uses. It probably also doesn't do trunking, which means it can't follow conversations easily between channels. I think you'd be able to hear EMS and LFD broadcasts, and the airport, but not opp, and also not LPS.
Some sort of MVC happened on Riverside east of Wonderland, maybe around 10 am. Everything is re-routing around it, they say will be closed all day? Both directions from Wonderland to Wharncliffe might be blocked right now.
Helicopter took the girl to Vic, was on the ground at the accident site for 1/2 hour, got to Vic at 10:16 am. I don't know how many EMS trucks were eventually called there, but I would imagine they all would have gone to the closest hospital, Wingham hospital is close by, would be easist for the parents.
School bus accident, bus windshield smashed, 1 child unconcious, 10 kids on bus. Clyde Line & Cardiff Rd, about mid-way between Goderich and Listowel. 7 kids + driver, all CTAS 3 walking wounded, 1 girl CTAS 2 (broken leg) will be taken by orng. I have not heard any OPP on this call (?) Orng took off 9:02, landed 9:28.
It's on Shaw rd, south of Gore on the west side. It's at least a 20 acre farm property, with a barn and large garage which is presumably burning and will be a total loss, surrounded by hundreds of acres of crop land. The controlled destruction of agricultural infrastructure continues.
The number of false fire alarms caused by people pulling pull station alarms is climbing. It's time they removed these things, at least on the ground floor. I wonder when was the last time an actual fire was alerted by a pull station.
Home invasion in Tillsonberg area (about 6km due south of Tillsonberg on Eden Line). 3 suspects, 1 had a gun, another had a hammer, beat a resident with it, in Tillsonberg hospital now. Was drug related, suspects looking for cocaine.
LFD on scene, not sure where, wires are down. Parts of westmount, berkshire, oxford park and oakridge are without power. 2 car mvc. MVC seems to be riverside and beaverbrook.
News reports say the structure that burned at 30 Baseline was a small building (or maybe old variety store?) owned or used by an organization called "Caring Cupboards" that stored donated food that is given to senior citizens and other disadvantaged people. So it's badly damaged, 2 freezers destroyed, all the food destroyed.
Fire responding to strange smells and gas reading coming from a vacant restaurant at 644 Richmond (Maison Istanbul). Roads are being blocked off, gas shut off to the building.
Fire on the 1'st floor patio of appt building 30 baseline rd (LMHC). Not sure if this is a patio of an individual unit or some sort of common outdoor patio.
LFD is responding to a "high angle tech rescue" at 300 King st, a male is climbing the side of the building. This is the Double-tree/Hilton hotel, 22 floors. Do fire departments ever deploy nets to catch people like they show in the movies?
The controlled destruction of agricultural infrastructure continues. A 4 am fire on Highbury (north or south?) apparently within the city limits, destroys a barn and vehicles. LFD was assisted by Belmont, which needs an explanation because I never hear paging for a Belmont station (anyone know more about this?).
Car hits bus shelter Wonderland/Southdale (at Petro-can). 2 people in the shelter, no entrapment. Fire arrives, car is already hooked up on a tow truck, no police on scene.
2 hours ago, pickup truck drives into building at dundas and hale. A really narrow building, about the same width as the truck Truck is sideways into the front of the building, probably can't remove the truck without a lot of damage to the building.
OPP dealing with a hostage situation and surrender. OPP "November" units are dealing with it, but that soft ID is used by several OPP detachments. If this is the Middlesex detachment area then this is happening near Stratford.
I think they're in London, I heard Masonville. I think Fanshawe and adelaide right now, going east on Fanshawe. LPS put out spike belt. Now south-bound on highbury. 6 OPP units following, unknown LPS. Now at huron, stopped. 12:43 am.
This could go on for hours. They need to baracade a road with some concete dividers the next time he's on a long stretch of county rd, baracade both ends. Or if they're willing, get a couple of snow plows and do the same with them. Baracade both ends of a county rd . They need to call lambton road dept and get some snow plows.
They're in wallaceberg now, west on langstaff. Now back on 40 heading south towards Chatham. A negotiator has been leaving voice mail. I think they just estimated he had 4000 km of fuel when this started.
Now south on 40. Now driving through Chatham, hitting lots of red lights. Truck has a message system that can play a message when the truck is not in gear, the OPP has told the company to play a message to have the driver contact OPP.
He must be on ridge line, now turning north onto communication rd, so not on 401 right now. The only thing this is costing is maybe some OPP overtime and gas cost, but then there's the chopper, don't know if it's still in the air or not. OK, fairview line, so well north of the 401, heading into Chatham. 40 turns into Prince Albert rd, now north of McNaughton. They've passed "The Pickle Station" (food processing company).
8:43 passing through Thamesville south-bound. Aproaching the sleepy little intersection of Selton 8:45 pm. The 401 is next. Have they loaded the road with spike belts? No! But he's not taking the 401, he's continuing south, next up is Beechwood, then Ridgetown.
Now passing through Oil City. Passing Aberfeldy line.. Now Bentpath line. Quite the tour going on here. Now entering Dresden. OPP sounding tired, don't blame them. Now eastbound on Baseline passing kentbridge rd 8:34 pm
they've managed to get a spike belt maybe caught one of the wheels, west-bound on egermont, helicopter is watching. cops are now frozen, can't follow for a couple minutes. Stopped east of sexton rd, marked units are being called in. Vehicle is mobile again, put his hazzard lights on.
while the brave OPP people are discussing how to let the americans deal with this guy, he is exiting the 402 at Kerwood rd. Now doing a u-turn on the road, opp doing nothing to stop this car, obviously a threat to the public, they had a good opportunity to do it.
Passing sharon drive 7:05 pm, now longwoods. They are discussing what they will do when he crosses the boarder, incredibly they don't have the balls to set up a roadblock on the CDN side of the border, and are going to rely on the americans doing it. no ability, not even an attempt, to coordinate with sarnia police to block this guy in, and they've easily got an hour to plan it.
Now passing westchester bourne rd, still west-bound. Passing exeter rd 6:56 pm . Vehicle is now 402 westbound. Will it have enough gas to get to Sarnia / Port-huron?
For the past 2 or 3 hours, OPP have been following a car since Whitby on the 407. It's now just west of Sweaburg rd on the 401 heading west. Fail to stop, fail to remain, and MH issue with the driver. US border has been informed. OPP taking extreme care to only follow with unmarked cars. OPP has had difficulty finding enough unmarked cars in the right place during this event. Now passing Plank line.
But I'll tell you what happened. 3 people (1 of them female) with guns and wearing ski masks did a home invasion / B&E. They were chased into a cornfield, and OPP were doing containment and I guess finally caught them.
OPP have cleared the scene in Ingersoll where there was previously a police presence in the area of Robinson Road, Thomas Road and Wallace Line. The only information released was that there was no threat to public safety and people were asked to avoid the area. By 11:24 p.m., officers had cleared the scene of what was being described as an "active investigation."
LFD has called for 10-2000 red. Homewood lane and pack rd. Driver of a vehicle I think involved in an accident is DUI, don't know what is so touchy about this incident but LFD is taking this to cell phones.
@ noonefan I changed the settings on all of my devices as well and it didn't work. Firefox is the only way I can listen. You'll have to refresh the feed after another source of audio plays (video, phone call, etc.) but it works great otherwise.
If you are having problems listening with Chrome browser, you can change the site permissions by going Here and follow the instructions for "Change settings for a specific site". Change the "Sound" to allow and change the "Insecure content" to allow as well. Make sure you are on the London Scanner page when making the changes.
35YO male stabbed multiple times in head, neck and chest between 5:30 and 6PM tonight, taken to Vic in stable condition. I *believe* it happened in the Bartlett cres / Kinnear Cres area of Westmount. Lets see if this is reported in the media.
There's a protest going on somewhere, people were blocking the road, EMS was called supposedly multiple people hit by cars but only 1 person was "tapped" by a passing car. I think I heard Elgin rd.
Did anyone hear any details about the call for Fire & Ambulance for a pedestrian hit on Wonderland Road near Southdale? He was hit at the lights at Swiss Chalet and East Side Mario's. Thank you!
OPP on a stakeout somewhere this morning. Trying to stop someone near airport line and centennial rd, between Hensall and Bayfield. Seems that when-ever the OPP want to arrest someone and they have small kids they have to wait until they leave the house in the morning but they'll usually have the kids with them so they have to tail them until they drop the kids off at school then make the arrest.
Has anybody heard anything yet, I do know of one person involved, I will not share names. So many sirens just went blaring past Byron to Delaware. Praying everyone is safe.
I was aware that LFD did not put out the camp fires of homeless people if it was being used for cooking, but I've just heard that they also won't put them out for "life safety purposes". So now that means they can set fires anywhere, in any setting, and the FD is powerless to put them out.
