CB antenna comparison

Hello members,

I am looking at purchasing a mobile (rhymes with Milson) 1000 antenna with a magnetic base and a 62" whip. My other option is a "Milson" called "Lil Mil" and it is only a 36" whip.
I will hook it up to my scanner (which is capable of receiving 26 MHz - 30 MHz range as well) in my truck. I am only interested in picking up "trucking conversations" while on the road (mostly during "away" baseball or hockey games for my sons).

Anyone have the "1000" , and how would you rate it?

Thanks so much.

cva1993: I had a "1000 Trucker" back in the early 90's mounted on the roof of my car. Best antenna I've ever had for CB. Talked to a guy that lived at Colborne and Central all the way to Caradoc North Public School when I finally lost him in the static. Also talked to someone in Alabama with that antenna while I was driving between Kerwood and Watford one day.

Unfortunately I now use a K-40 because someone ripped off my 1000.

So the 1000 in my opinion would be a good choice especially if you choose to match it with a 2-way instead of the scanner.
