Scanner Type

I am looking to buy a scanner that will pick up london fire. i don't know what ones would be good and i am not looking at spending a lot of money can you help me out by telling me one that would be good that would cost under 300

You will need a TRUNKING scanner, LFD is still ANALOG so you should be able to stay under 300.00 but most of us buy digital scanners because most transmissions will soon likely switch to DIGITAL. RADIO SHACK (USA) carries both types but DIGITAL costs in area 300-600.00 dollars and they will pick up ANALOG transmissions also. When you get a scanner there is lots of help at RADIOREFERENCE.COM....ONTARIO FORUMS for setting up, etc. Hope this helps....BILL67.
