Open Fire Complaints

Postby knightsfan89 » Sat May 21, 2011 8:55 pm

Now that it is Summer time, well still spring but you know what I mean. It seems more and more open fire complaints are coming in nightly. I understand under some situations it is illegal but I get the feeling that most of the time it's the neighbor perhaps annoyed with the noise coming from next door.

I'd like to just say to everyone who may have this issue, let them enjoy their fun and if they are too noisy call the police instead with a noise complaint call instead of sending fire trucks out to investigate these burns. It's much easier for a officer to respond and handle the issue and if needed then call fire out to issue a ticket and put out the fire.

I rather have the fire department free to handle other calls then running around the city due to people enjoying a fire in their backyard at night

I was listening earlier and was amazed with how many came in such a waste of the firefighters time, the only one i agreed with was someone trying to have one on their 6th floor patio

Another citronella candle fire. some people call the fire dept even if they smell smoke in winter from a fireplace I think. They wont walk 10ft.to see if there actually is a fire.
