check your speed!

Postby nevaya » Fri May 27, 2011 5:41 pm

I was driving to work the other day down Southdale and they have on either side of the road attached to a pole a speed check thing telling you what speed you are driving as you approach it other than to tell us we are going to fast/slow or just right what is the purpose? kinda silly if you ask me

I seen that on Bradley Ave too. Guess it's to slow down people in the school zones.

I'll bet you took your foot off the gas when you saw it. Most people do. Its a lot cheaper than having an officer and car sitting watching. But beware, after it has been there awhile, its a hot spot for radar!

I know they are installed to deter speeding but seems more often then not once the sun goes down, all the teens and younger adults use them as a measure of how fast they can get their car in a short amount of time, I don't really see them being that effective
