Re: Air Raid Sirens?i do not believe there any more.. there used to be one at oxford and highbury until the army sold the houses in there
Re: Air Raid Sirens? There was one at Adelaide and southdale by the fish and game pond too. Not sure if it's still there.
Hey mayor Joe, don't you think we should have them back?! Owner of London Scanner
Re: Air Raid Sirens?i remember an air raid siren at the corner of sackville street and hamilton road right in the parking lot of the crouch library.
Re: Air Raid Sirens?I remember hearing them sometimes as a kid as well...they were always very eerie souding. One time they went off unexpectedly due to a lightning strike (I think it was in '86 or '87)...i was in grade school out during recess and the teachers called us all in and made us get under our desks. LOL, they were 60's children groomed to fear the "Bomb" I guess.
Anyways, I emailed my city councillor and asked...hopefully I'll get a solid response and post back.
Re: Air Raid Sirens?lol we had them in St.Marys, they were used as a tornado warning system when i was a kid, they tested them once that i can remember. I didn't know what the hell was going on. they still have them, not sure if they still work.
