OPP Call Signs/Area

Postby Mux » Fri Feb 08, 2013 1:37 pm

If anyone is wondering what the OPP call signs and patrol areas are

Fleetnet is all across Ontario and split up in 4 different systems to cover ontario. We are on Fleetnet Zone 1, Covers from Essex County to the Wasaga Beach/ Barrie area then its a new system for Zone 2

SO! Zone 1 is what we will talk about

Zone 1 is broken down into 6 of its Patrol Sections.

The way their unit number works is you have the HARD ID. That is the unit number on the side of the car. So could be 6-144. And that ca has its own radio id that cant be changed. So say radio ID 8051 will ALWAYS be car 6-144 (unless they smash it up or replace that car)
SOFT ID change all the time. twice a day or more. You will hear the officers say their HARD ID and SOFT ID. Soft ID is their call sign for the day, that would be like 6 (6 is SW Ontario) Juliet (County call sign for their area) 10 (Zone area. 10 is Dorchester) 1 (Day or night shift unit. Days are even numbers Odd are nights) So 6 Juliet 101 is a SW unit from middlesex who patrols dorchester area and is a days unit. 6 Juliet 102 would be nights. 6 Juliet 103 would be days and so on

Did you ever have any luck updating the 6 Sierra. Those are what I am interested in the most. Specifically the Drumbo, Princeton, Plattsville area.
Also thank you so much for posting this. Being relatively new to the scanner world your post has been by for the most informative
Thanks
