Large families and garbage collectionShould large families be exempt from the 4 bag limit?

Re: Large families and garbage collectionWhen I put 2 bags out I usually find an extra bag dropped in after the fact. If it weren't garbage I would go through it, find out who's it was and return it nicely to their front lawn!
Re: Large families and garbage collectionIt's funny you say that, there was a fellow employee I worked with who did that. He pulled a bag out of the dumpster and found a piece of mail from the person who threw it in there. He call him up and told him to come get his trash. Turns out it was a customer of ours.

Re: Large families and garbage collectionWe are a family of 4 and only put out 1 full bag and second bag is usually only 1/2 full we use 2 recycle bins that are full as well, with all that we are able to recycle now I don't think large family's should be exempt.
Re: Large families and garbage collectionSame here. Family of 4 here, we usually only have 2 bags. We generally use 2 or 3 recycle bins also. This morning we had 4 bags, with one extra I'll take to the transfer site, but that's because we had extra garbage from a house cleaning and camping trip, so we had an unusual amount.
You could conceivably charge a 'bag tag' fee for homeowners to put out bags that exceed the allowed '4', although you run the risk of people getting out of the recycling habit by paying the surcharge just to dump those items into the landfill.
