Re: Why do you listen to the scanner?I listen to stay informed about what's going on around the city especially the east village
Re: Why do you listen to the scanner?Same here. We really appreciate the service. We like to know what's going on in our community.
Re: Why do you listen to the scanner?I like staying informed with what's happening in the city. Also, I dispatch as part of my job, and by listening to the EMS/OPP scanner I have been able to use some of what I've learned from listening to better dispatch when I work at the hospital. Plus, some people listen to birds, or the sounds of the ocean, when wanting 'quite time'. The scanner, believe it or not, is my white noise at night.

Re: Why do you listen to the scanner?I absolutely love listening in, the scanner really opens your eyes as to what's going on in our city and the situations our fire ems and opp have to endure on a daily basis, it has even made me a more cautious driver, just like sandalls its by background noise when I am at home I would be lost without it.
Why do you listen to the scanner? For me it's voyeuristic it's like slowing down at a car accident to see what's going on.

Re: Why do you listen to the scanner? Its also great for knowing which areas of the city to avoid when it comes to accidents. eg. 401/402 pile ups or intersections to avoid.
Re: Why do you listen to the scanner?I just enjoy knowing what is going on around me. If a police cruiser, a fire truck or an ambulance goes by our apartment building I am always curious as to where they are heading so with the scanner I know where they are going. Thanks London Dad
Re: Why do you listen to the scanner?I enjoy listening. Its the back ground noise when Im home. In the winter time i get heads up on road conditions. Not to mention the number of curious people that call and ask if I have the scanner on as they want to know whats going on. Our emergency response personal do a outstanding job . Thanks London Dad for the site.
