i am wondering about that kind of coin. i read in the lfp about a way they where making huge dollars by calling in sick and then being replaced by another firefighter who because of being called in would make time and a half. they implied that the fireman would have this arranged in order to make more money. i hope this is not true but it sure would rake up the dollars fast as it would be a good plan.. i also feel that firefighters should work the 8 or 12 hour shift like the majority of us and if there is a big fire call staff in just like the hospitals do. any thoughts?

As a matter of fact Firefighters are subject to recall to duty in case of a large fire or catastrophe and are paid for any overtime like most workers. Also Firefighters work 24 Hour shifts because this was the most economical way for the City of London to operate the service. Don`t worry if there is cheaper way to operate I`m sure JOE will find it.
